The Ball is Rolling…

God bless our realtor, Cindy Cunningham, who not only supports us in our endeavor, but gave us the greatest gift I didn’t know existed: the name of someone who could manage all of this mess of a permitting process. Enter Bob, The Permit Guy!

It took some time after the sale to firm up our plans for this property. I reached out to Bob, The Permit Guy this past spring and scheduled an initial site visit.

When he first walked down the driveway and saw the house, he exclaimed “Wow! She’s a beaut!”. He saw what Sean & I saw, when most guys were telling me to bulldoze it and start from scratch. After a brief walk-around and tour of the inside, Bob walked back out to the front of the house, paused for a moment and with a most contented look on his face sighed and said, “I love my job.” I immediately knew he was the one we needed to hire.

We contracted his construction management services about a month after his initial site visit, and I am so glad we did—his expertise is worth every penny.

First order of business was to check with the county on a few big questions: would we be required to add an interior sprinkler system? No. Would we need an entirely new septic system? No, we could update the one we have. Would we need to drill a well? No, we can use the existing water tank to supply the house. Truly, miraculous answers which all told save us tens of thousands of dollars.
